Machine Finished (MF) tissue paper is glazed on both sides, as opposed to one side with Machine Glazed (MG). The dyeing process is also different, ensuring the dye penetrates the paper thoroughly, making it less likely to bleed and essentially showerproof.

The MF process involves pressing the paper through a heated cylindrical roller (called Calendering) and this is how we achieve the GSM weight and smooth luxurious finish.

“If I can teach our customers one thing about tissue paper, it’s to remember that MF coloured tissue paper is showerproof (within reason). We don’t offer MG coloured tissue paper because there is a possibility that the ink will run if it gets wet. The last thing we want is a transfer of colour to any items of clothing just purchased from a store.”

Acid free tissue paper packaging can be used alongside metal or leather without damaging a product; therefore, acid free tissue paper is ideal for decorating jewellery cases, wrapping up keepsakes or interleaving textiles.

We offer both bright white, luxury ‘virgin’ paper (I.E. paper that is fresh off the press and not made from recycled materials) and white tissue paper that is made from recycled materials, which is our only MG finish tissue paper. This doesn’t have quite as a crisp, fresh white appearance but still offers that luxury feel inherent to white tissue paper.
